Scale alone isn't the deciding factor, though. A smaller, more specialised venue can put your stand in front of a far more relevant audience.

How Do You Plan Trade Fair Logistics Across Borders?

Building the same stand for fairs in different countries isn't just a matter of shipping the same structure twice. Each venue has its own build-up and tear-down windows, its own rules on materials and rigging, and its own customs and transport chain to get your stand there on time.

Step 1. Confirm the Venue's Build-Up and Tear-Down Window

Every venue sets its own build-up and tear-down schedule, and missing that window can mean losing your slot entirely. Confirm these dates directly with the venue as soon as you book your stand, since they rarely match the fair's public opening dates.

Step 2. Check Local Rules on Materials and Rigging

Fire safety codes, rigging weight limits and approved materials change from venue to venue, even within the same country. A design approved at one fairground can be rejected at another, so these rules need checking before the stand is built, not on-site.

Step 3. Plan Customs and Transport Across the Border

Moving a stand, furniture and graphics across a border adds customs paperwork and transit time that a domestic fair never needs.
