It brings together lighting technology, luminaires and components, building and home automation, electrical installation and smart connectivity, with an audience of architects, lighting designers, electrical trades, system integrators, wholesale and retail. Because it only happens every two years, the edition carries the weight of two years of product development, and stands are correspondingly ambitious. Because Light + Building is biennial, a disposable stand is the most expensive option available. We build modular, reusable structures designed to be stored, inspected and refinished across the two-year gap, so the investment covers two editions rather than one and the second build focuses on the new product range instead of on rebuilding walls.

As dark as your product needs, within the hall rules. We design the ambient level around your fittings, usually well below the average stand, and use matt finishes and baffles to stop neighbouring light spilling into your space.
How much power will we need?
More than you would expect, and it has to be ordered in advance. We calculate the total load and the number of circuits from your fitting list and submit the request to Messe Frankfurt with the design, not after it.
Can you rig heavy fittings and overhead structures?
Yes. We confirm rigging points and weight limits with the venue before the design is closed. On a lighting stand the suspended element is usually the main feature, so it is the first thing we check rather than the last.
What does your Light + Building stand design and build service include?
A turnkey service: lighting-led design and 3D render, manufacturing in our own workshop, transport to Frankfurt, build, dismantling and technical support during the six days of the show.
Can you test our fittings before the stand travels?
Yes, and on a lighting stand it is the main argument for building in our own workshop. We mount your fittings on the real structure and check beam, spill and colour before anything is loaded onto a lorry. A stand that is assembled for the first time in the hall gives you one night to discover the same problems, with no workshop behind you.
