Trade Fairs in Spain: a Guide by City and Sector
If you want to exhibit at a trade fair in Spain, finding fairs is the easy part. Knowing which one deserves your budget is not. Trade show calendars and exhibition listings throw everything at you at once, mixed with local festivals and job fairs, and half the list shows dates that have already gone by.
There is no filler here. These are the trade fairs in Spain that actually move business, sorted by date, city and sector, with the next edition of each one and what you should know about the venue before you book your space.
Which are the main trade fairs in Spain?
Spain’s trade fair and exhibition calendar revolves around two venues: Fira Gran Via in Barcelona and IFEMA in Madrid. IFEMA alone lists 119 trade fairs in its calendar, and Barcelona keeps pace in technology, food and health.
One warning before you check dates: ten of the sixteen trade fairs in this guide fall between January and April 2027. It is peak season for stands, with tight deadlines, so the sooner you decide, the better.
These are the main trade fairs in Spain (the trade shows and exhibitions worth planning a stand for), from the nearest to the furthest. Click the name of a fair to see its card.

Prefer a month-by-month view? Here is the calendar. Click a fair to find out more about it:
- Who exhibits and who visits, not the name. The biggest fair is not always the one your buyers attend.
- How long until opening. A custom stand goes through briefing, 3D design, manufacturing and assembly, and the closer to the date, the less room to make changes.
- How many square metres you really need. Before booking, work out the size of your stand based on what you want to show and how many people you want to host.
Trade fairs in Spain by city
A fair is more than a date: the venue shapes your stand and the city shapes your logistics. These are the four hubs of the Spanish trade fair calendar and the events that define them.
Barcelona

Barcelona is the hub for technology and global business. MWC, ISE, ICE and Smart City Expo fill Fira Gran Via, and between January and April the venue hosts six events in a row, from ICE to Seafood Expo Global. If you are exhibiting here, this is how we build your stand in Barcelona from our own workshop.
Madrid

Madrid is IFEMA: one venue with tourism (FITUR), hospitality (HIP), construction (Rebuild and Veteco) and energy (Genera and Matelec). With so many trade shows in a few weeks, building a stand in Madrid means closing the design early, because assembly windows eat up the calendar.
- Height: 4 metres at most. One isolated element on the perimeter may reach 6 metres, except on party walls, and if you set it back by one metre you can raise whatever you like up to the permitted height. In the connecting areas between halls and at the sides of the entrances to halls 9, 10, 12 and 14.0 the limit is 4 metres.
- Project: if you design your stand freely, IFEMA has to approve it, and the deadline to submit it is one month before assembly starts. You cannot start building without an approved project.
- Party walls: the walls facing other stands or the hall must be at least 2.50 metres high.
- Platforms and rear walls: if the platform is higher than 19 mm, you need an access ramp at least 1 metre wide. Rear faces get a neutral finish with no branding.
- Second floors: raised structures of 1.20 metres or more, or carrying people, need an assembly inspection certificate once built.

Valencia

Valencia is ceramics and interior design, and it is a venue in motion: Cevisama stopped being a stand-alone February show and since 2026 it has been part of Feria Valencia's interior design offer in September. Until the organiser confirms the next edition, keep an eye on it. On a stand in Valencia for this audience, the material has to be seen and touched.
Bilbao

Bilbao plays in another league: industry and machine tools at the BEC. BIEMH is held every two years and its next edition, in 2028, has no confirmed dates yet. Visitors are technical and come to see machines running, so building a stand in Bilbao means thinking about weight, demos and meetings, not just design.
Which Spanish trade fair fits your industry?
Start with who has to walk through your stand. Your sector picks the fair; the city comes second.
Technology and gaming
Mobile World Congress covers mobile and telecoms, ISE audiovisual, ICE Barcelona gaming and betting and Smart City Expo smart cities. All four are in Barcelona, so it is worth asking whether one design can work for more than one of them. The full technology trade fair calendar has its own hub.
Food and beverages
If you sell food and beverages, your year comes down to three events. Alimentaria leads in Barcelona, but it is held every two years and will not be back until 2028. Salón Gourmets brings gourmet products to Madrid in April 2027 and Seafood Expo Global gathers the seafood sector.
Health and pharma
The Spanish pharmacy and cosmetics calendar has two events worth reading together. Infarma alternates its venue between Madrid and Barcelona (in 2027 it is Fira Gran Via) and in-cosmetics Global follows just three weeks later, with cosmetic ingredients as the focus.
Construction, energy and industry
IFEMA splits its industrial and construction fairs by theme. Rebuild covers construction and renovation, Veteco windows and facades, and Genera and Matelec share a week in November 2026 for energy and electrical equipment.
Tourism and events
If your business is tourism and events, FITUR fills IFEMA at the end of January, IBTM World brings the meetings and events industry to Barcelona in November and HIP takes technology to the hospitality sector in March.

Exhibit at trade fairs in Spain with Contemporanea Eventi
Choosing the fair is half the job. The other half is showing up with a stand that does what you need: attract visitors, showcase product and close meetings. We design, manufacture and build custom stands in our own workshop in Barcelona, with more than 20 years of craft, from the 3D concept to assembly and dismantling.
If you are still sorting out dates and space, start with organising the trade fair ahead of time and the budget for a trade fair stand. And if you already know which one you are going to, tell us which trade fair in Spain you are attending and we will prepare a proposal for your stand.
Is your next fair outside Spain? We build stands at trade fairs across Europe, and our guide to the biggest trade fairs in Europe lists them by country, city and venue.
