IBTM World 2026 build regulations for space-only stands at Fira
The IBTM World stand build regulations are public and stricter this year on complex structures and rigging. These are the four figures that shape the design most.

| Plans | The deadline to submit space-only plans was 1 October 2026. Double-deck designs are reviewed before the event and inspected by an independent engineer, and without permission nobody enters to build. source |

| Height | The maximum height is 5 m from the venue floor. Under the walkway it is 4 m if all the built space is underneath. Any construction over 4 m may be classified as a complex structure, with approval charges. source |
| Walls on open sides | Only 50% of each open side can be solid wall. To go beyond, ask the organiser for permission and set the wall back 500 mm. Long walls are broken up with items on display. source |
| Double deck | It is classified as a complex structure, with additional documentation and calculations. Designs are sent before 1 October 2026 and the organiser cannot guarantee permission if they arrive late. source |
| Accessibility | If the platform exceeds 5 cm, the stand incorporates a ramp within its perimeter, with maximum slopes of 10, 8 or 6% depending on length. Counters have a low point of 760 mm at most. source |
| Demonstrations | Demos for groups of 10 or more go towards the centre of the stand and appear on the plans. If they obstruct the aisle, the organiser may restrict them. source |
| Insurance and build-up | Space-only contractors must hold public liability insurance of at least 2 million pounds per claim, and register in advance to access the venue. source |
| Floor and platforms | Only platform or carpet, which the exhibitor removes at the end. A platform may not exceed 18 cm and its ramp stays inside the stand. Paint, glue and anchors on the floor are not allowed. source |
| Noise | Demonstrations may not exceed the background level by more than 3 dB and never 60 dB. If exceeded, Fira asks to turn the volume down. source |

Designing an IBTM World stand as a meeting room with a diary, without crowding
Space-only dismantling must finish on 21 November at 14:00, and the appointment diary does not forgive delays. So we design the stand to go up fast and be used right away.
