The MATELEC 2026 exhibitor guide is public and sets build-up dates, heights, solid walls and second floors. These are the four figures that shape the design most.

| Height | 4 m along the perimeter. To raise or hang decorative elements up to 6 m, set back 1 m around the perimeter. Not available in the connection areas between halls or on the entrance sides of Halls 9 and 10. source |
| Overhangs | Construction, decoration and spotlights may not project more than 50 cm beyond the allocated space, and only from 2.5 m high. Spotlights point towards the inside of the stand. source |
| Solid walls | At most 50% of each aisle frontage. Longer closures are set back 3 m and cannot exceed 80% of the frontage length. source |
| Second floor | Up to 7 m in halls, set back 1 m around the perimeter and not allowed in the connection areas or on the entrance sides of Halls 9 and 10. It requires a certificate with dimensions, working load and capacity. source |
| Minimum build | Every company builds at least the party walls with the hall wall and neighbouring stands, and submits the occupational risk protocol. source |
| Safety and access | Hard hat, high-visibility vest and safety footwear are compulsory. No builder passes are needed, but you must pay 100% of the participation, have the project approved, pay the build rights and submit the protocol. source |
| Build rights | The build contractor pays them to IFEMA before starting. There is a 5% discount until 18 October and a 25% surcharge from 11 November 2026. source |

Designing a MATELEC stand with power for demos and technical product on show
Free-design build-up starts on 18 November and the project must be approved before 18 October. So we fix the power, the product supports and the rigging in the first sketch.
Power from the plan
We mark where every board and socket goes for live demos, and book it with IFEMA before we build.
Technical product on show
Cabinets, sample boards and luminaires with calculated supports, so the product can be seen, touched and compared.
Hung lighting
If you hang luminaires or the brand, the rigging project goes to IFEMA separately, before 18 October.
Build-up in four days
We arrive with a prefabricated stand and install between 18 and 21 November, with no improvising in the hall.

What makes a MATELEC stand with switchgear and live demos cost more
We do not give figures without seeing your plot: the cost of a MATELEC stand depends on the metres, the power you need and the weight of the product. These are the six factors.
Power for demos
The more equipment running, the more boards, connections and consumption must be planned from the drawing.
Heavy product
Switchgear and cabinets need reinforced structure and supports to be shown safely.
Second floor
It needs a set-back, a structure certificate and more structure, at the cost of usable area.
Rigging
Hanging luminaires or the brand goes through a separate project and booked hanging points.
Build-up window
Hours are fixed. A stand built in the workshop needs fewer hours in the hall.
Reusing the stand
A modular design pays off if you also exhibit at GENERA or another IFEMA show.

Are MATELEC and GENERA the same show?
They are two shows that IFEMA merges in 2026 into one event, the International Week of Electrification and Decarbonisation. They share dates and venue.
How much does a MATELEC stand cost?
It depends on the plot, the power and the product you show, so we give no figure without the plan. To orient yourself on the items, see how to calculate a trade show stand budget.
Can I show heavy switchgear or cabinets?
Yes, with the structure and supports calculated from the project. If you add a second floor, IFEMA asks for a certificate with dimensions, working load and capacity.
Can I hang luminaires or the brand from the ceiling?
Yes, with a separate rigging project sent to IFEMA before 18 October 2026 and hanging points booked with the fair.
When is a free-design stand built?
From 18 to 21 November, with the project approved and the risk protocol submitted. If it is your first show, review the steps to organise a trade show in advance.
