What BIEMH is and when the next edition takes place
BIEMH, the Bienal Internacional de Máquina-Herramienta, is the leading machine tool and manufacturing technology fair in Spain and one of the most important in Europe. It is held every two years at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre in Barakaldo, and the last edition drew around 39,000 visitors and more than 1,500 exhibitors. It covers metal cutting and forming machinery, robotics, production automation, metrology and surface treatment. The visitor is a production engineer or a plant manager who has come to see metal being removed, which is why the stands that work are the ones where a machine is actually running rather than standing still under a spotlight. The next edition falls in 2028; confirm the exact days with the organiser before booking travel, since third party listings for this fair are frequently out of date.

Your machine weighs several tonnes and needs to cut. We confirm floor loading, access and crane requirements with the BEC first, then build the stand around the machine, leaving the access side open until it is positioned.
Tooling and workholding
Small, precise, and best understood in the hand. We build display at working height with good task lighting, organised by application, so an engineer can compare inserts without asking someone to open a cabinet.
Automation and robotics
A robot cell has to run safely with people at the edge. We design the guarding, the safety distances and the sightlines so a cycle can repeat all day with visitors watching from the aisle.
Metrology, software and services
Your product is precision or code, neither of which photographs. We build controlled demonstration areas, stable and away from vibration, plus a meeting table, since this is a technical sale that takes time.
Two years between editions changes the calculation
Because BIEMH is biennial, a stand built to be thrown away is used for a handful of days every twenty-four months. We build modular, reusable structures that are stored, inspected and refurbished in our facility, and reconfigured for the other industrial fairs you attend in between. For a manufacturer who already sells durability, it is the same argument applied to your own stand.

When is the next BIEMH?
BIEMH is biennial and is held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre. The last edition took place in 2026, so the next falls in 2028. We deliberately do not publish exact days here: the listings circulating for this fair come from travel agencies and stand builders rather than the organiser, and they are often wrong. Confirm the dates with the organiser and we will plan the build around them.
Can the stand take the weight of our machine?
That is the first thing checked, not the last. We confirm the permitted load per square metre and the access route with the BEC for your specific equipment, and if the plot will not take it we say so while it can still be changed.
Can we run the machine during the fair?
Usually yes, and at BIEMH it is close to essential. We plan the power, compressed air, extraction and swarf handling, and agree the guarding with the venue in advance so the machine can cut with visitors present.
When does the machinery need to arrive?
Before the structure closes around it. We sequence the build with your transport, leaving the access side open, and only complete the walls and ceiling once the equipment is positioned and levelled.
What does your BIEMH stand design and build service include?
A turnkey service: design and 3D render, manufacturing in our own workshop, transport to Bilbao, build, dismantling and technical support during the fair, plus the venue requests for services and lifting.
Can the same structure be used at other industrial fairs?
Yes, and with two years between editions that is normally the point. The stand is designed to be reconfigured for different plot sizes, so the investment also covers the machine tool and subcontracting fairs you attend in the intervening year.
