A furniture stand is judged by the same standards as the furniture

Exhibiting at ORGATEC 2026 puts your product next to companies who sell design for a living, in front of architects and specifiers who read a joint and a joint line the way other people read a price tag. The stand cannot be a backdrop here: if the carpentry on the walls is worse than the carpentry on your chairs, the visitor notices before they sit down.

What ORGATEC is and when the 2026 edition opens

ORGATEC is the international trade fair for workplace and contract interiors and it is held every two years. The next edition runs from 27 to 30 October 2026 at Koelnmesse, under the theme of how spaces are designed in a period of constant change. It gathers office and contract furniture, acoustic solutions, flooring, lighting and the workplace technology around them, with an audience of architects, interior designers, facility managers and dealers. Because the fair is biennial, each edition concentrates two years of product launches and the level of the stands is unusually high. It also means the specifier you want in front of you has two years of catching up to do in four days, so being easy to walk into matters more than being spectacular from a distance.

Turnkey service for your ORGATEC stand

One team, one project, from the first sketch to the plot handed back empty. A single contact covers design, joinery, transport and installation in Cologne, along with the venue paperwork and the electrical and rigging orders that Koelnmesse handles on their own separate deadlines.

Projects that back every stand we build

Twenty years of custom stand design across Europe with our own joinery, which for a furniture fair is not a detail: it is the reason the finishes on the stand can match the finishes on the product.

What your ORGATEC stand needs, depending on what you manufacture

Four kinds of ORGATEC exhibitor, four different things the stand has to prove. In every case the starting point is the same question: what does a visitor have to be able to do on this stand, and how much floor does that take.

01

Office furniture manufacturers

Your product has to be used, not admired. We design real working settings that a visitor can sit in and adjust, because a task chair sells when someone has spent five minutes in it and not when it is on a plinth behind a rope.

02

Acoustic and partition systems

Nobody can see acoustics, which makes this the hardest brief in the hall. We build demonstrable contrast into the stand: a treated pod next to an untreated area, so the difference is something the visitor experiences rather than a figure on a panel.

03

Contract flooring and surfaces

You are selling something people walk on without looking. We lay full-scale surface areas in the traffic route of the stand so specifiers feel the material underfoot, with sample stations off to one side for the technical conversation.

04

Workplace technology and fit-out

Your value is only visible in use. We integrate working meeting rooms where the booking system, the screen and the acoustics are all live, and let the visitor run the scenario themselves.

Two years between editions, one structure

Because ORGATEC is biennial, building from scratch each time means paying full price for a stand that is used four days every twenty-four months. We build modular, reusable structures that are dismantled into stored components, inspected and refinished in the workshop, and reconfigured for the next plot. For a furniture manufacturer that already thinks in terms of durable materials, it is the consistent argument.

Frequently asked questions about ORGATEC stands

What furniture and workplace manufacturers ask us before booking their space at Koelnmesse.

When does ORGATEC 2026 take place?

ORGATEC 2026 runs from 27 to 30 October 2026 at Koelnmesse. It is a biennial fair, so the following edition falls in 2028 rather than 2027.

Can the finishes on the stand match our furniture?

Yes, and it is the main reason to use a contractor with its own joinery. We work from your material and finish samples and produce physical test pieces before manufacturing, so the veneer or lacquer on the walls sits correctly against the product.

Can visitors sit on and use the furniture on display?

They should. We plan the layout around use, not around display: circulation wide enough for someone to pull a chair out, power at the desks, and enough settings that the stand does not feel occupied when three visitors have sat down.

Can you build a genuinely quiet meeting room on the stand?

Within what a hall allows, yes. We use double partitions and absorbent lining and place the room away from the aisle. At an acoustics-aware fair like ORGATEC, a meeting room that clearly does not work acoustically is worse than not having one.

What does your ORGATEC stand design and build service include?

A turnkey service: design and 3D render, joinery in our own workshop, transport to Cologne, build, dismantling and support across the four days of the fair.

What happens to the stand between editions?

It comes back to our warehouse near Barcelona. We store, inspect and repair it during the two-year gap, so the next build starts from a structure in known condition instead of from a quote for a new one.

ORGATEC 2026 takes place at Koelnmesse

ORGATEC gathers the workplace and contract sector at Koelnmesse from 27 to 30 October 2026. The stand is manufactured in our Barcelona joinery, finished there and assembled once before it leaves, so the quality you sign off is the quality that reaches Cologne.

Exhibition stand design and build in Cologne

Koelnmesse works to strict build and dismantle windows and ORGATEC fills several halls at once, so vehicle access is booked by slot. Because we transport a stand that is already finished, our time in Cologne goes into levelling, assembly and detailing rather than into cutting and painting on site.

Contemporanea Eventi builds your ORGATEC stand in Cologne

You have the dates and a product range that will be examined closely by people who design interiors for a living. What is left is building something that survives that scrutiny. Tell us what you are showing at ORGATEC 2026 and we will come back with a proposal.
